An era of change

There can be no doubt that change is coming to America. That change did not begin on Jan 20th or even Nov 11th. 9-11 was a wakeup call, but it wasn't the catalyst that propelled us to where we are today. The wheels were turning long before that.

I am an engineer. When I analyze a problem I try to trace the events back to the root cause. This principle is called "failure analysis" and is the only way to truly understand how something failed. With that in mind, I have looked at the events leading up to today's economic, political and social turmoil and have determined that they began with a single man. He was a sharecroppers son from Rigby Idaho and his name is Philo T Farnsworth. He is also known as the inventor of the Television.

Nothing has had a greater influence on worldwide events and more importantly on individual perspectives than the Television. There have always been corruption in government and bastions of socialism in the world dating back to pre biblical times. Nothing has changed there, but for the first time in human history a select few have a powerful tool to directly influence not only our actions, but even what we think. Armed with this new weapon, those corrupt and self serving entities have been hammering away at us in the battle for our minds.

No longer do individuals need to seek out and discover the truth for themselves. The truth will be broadcast into their homes by attractive and charming representatives of government, corporations and the media itself. They will tell us who is good and who is bad. They are our protectors.

They will identify and vilify those who are evil so we can collectively put our boots to the unsavory and feel justified. They will glorify and defend those who are good so that they are placed on pedestals and can be properly worshipped.

They will choose our leaders and silence their critics. If you disagree they will place a label on you so that your neighbors can know that you are bad.

I don't think this is what Philo had in mind.....
