$3,600,000,000,000.00

Three trillion six hundred billion dollars in our Nations new budget.

How much is 3.6 trillion dollars? The number itself is just too large to get my brain around.

Lets try and put it into perspective shall we?

Line up dollar bills end to and it it would reach from here to the sun...and back...and to the sun again...and back again.

You could feed the entire worlds population 3 meals a day for 55 years

If you spent $1,000,000 (1 Million dollars) each and every day it would take you nearly TEN THOUSAND years to spend it all.

If you could buy heartbeats for 1 dollar each, you would live for nearly 90,000 YEARS

Our President and our Congress are much more efficient. They'll burn through it all before Christmas.

Blog

I changed some prefs in my blog today. Looks pretty empty so I'm going to try and write more often.

Today I went to a Geocaching event then off to the hills and played with guns.

I have a pretty cool revolver. It's an 1858 Remington Army (replica) in .44 caliber, cap and ball. The cool thing is that it has a conversion cylinder that allows it to fire .45lc cartridges. These cylinders were originally designed to extend the service life of cap and ball revolvers after the advent of mass produced brass cartridges towards the end of the civil war. I got it so I could compete in "Cowboy Action Shooting" sports.

In the process of putting this rig together, I've found a loophole in the gun control laws.

Under the law, muzzle loading cap and ball weapons are not considered firearms and are exempt from background checks, permits etc. They can even be sent via US mail without paperwork (Cabelas will ship directly to you). The conversion cylinder is considered a "gun part" and not a gun and is likewise exempt from gun control laws.

What does this mean? Simply put, it provides a legal path to modern handgun ownership without a background check or filling out a form with a Licensed firearms dealer. No paperwork at all and I have a .45 caliber 6 shot hand cannon.

In a word...

Sweet!

turds

From a friends sig line...

"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
